Cake Mix on erittäin käyttökelpoinen esine kolmessa ensimmäisessä Paper Mariossa. Tälle esineelle on eniten mahdollisia reseptejä, ja osa niistä on erittäin hyödyllisiä. Paper Mariossa Cake Mixejä ei myydä missään kaupassa. Niitä löytyy vain Shy Guy's Toy Boxista kaksi kerrallaan Shy Guy's Playgroundilla. Kaksi Shy Guyta kantaa Cake Mixiä, ja jos pelaaja haluaa ne itselleen, hänen on taisteltava saadakseen ne. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Doorissakaan niitä ei myydä missään kaupassa, mutta niitä saa Pianta Parlorista kuudella Pianta Tokenilla kappale. Super Paper Mariossa Cake Mixejä myydään vain Flipsiden Itty Bits -kaupassa. Lisäksi jotkut viholliset saattavat joskus harvoin pudottaa niitä. Kun pelaaja kerää 10 kauppapistettä, hän saa palkinnoksi Cake Mixin.
Jos Cake Mixin käyttää sellaisenaan kahdessa ensimmäisessä Paper Mariossa, se palauttaa vain yhden FP:n. Super Paper Mariossa se palauttaa sellaisenaan käytettynä 5 HP:ta
